Team Coach Contributes to Ford Taurus

Christina Rodriguez a Georgia Tech graduate and former OMED Team Coach was recognized in the November issue of Caribbean Business. The article discussed her involvement in the design of the 2010 Ford Taurus. Christina is currently a Vehicle Dynamics Development Engineer for the Ford Motor Company.
In 2005, she was named the lead suspension-development engineer on the Taurus and Taurus X vehicle lines. After a dozen years with Ford, Rodríguez has been promoted to vehicle dynamics-development engineer, the only woman currently in that post with the U.S. automaker.

President Peterson Kicks Off Anniversary
This year OMED: Educational Services celebrated its 30th Anniversary. This three-day event, centered around Georgia Tech’s homecoming, brought together many distinguished alumni, friends, family, and supporters who have been key contributors to the success of OMED throughout its history. The anniversary celebration was opened with an inspiring speech from Georgia Tech’s newest president B.P. (Bud) Peterson. His speech recognized all of the accomplishments that OMED has achieved over the past 30 years and set the tone for a successful future.
SHPE 2009 National Conference
The SHPE Conference is the major event for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Inc. and the largest technical and career conference for Hispanics in the country.
Each year, the SHPE Conference attracts over 5,000 engineering professionals, students and corporate representatives. The conference is an opportunity for engineering companies and corporations to recruit top talent from SHPE membership. It also provides educational, technical and career opportunities for professional and student engineers.

Beatriz was born in Medellin, Colombia and moved to the United States to complete her Bachelor in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University. Previously Beatriz worked at Georgia Tech’s Office of Undergraduate Admission and she joins us as Hispanic Affairs Partner at OMED. Beatriz is bilingual in English and Spanish and enjoys meeting new people, hiking and traveling. Currently Beatriz is pursuing a Master degree in Professional Counseling and a specialization in Education.
